The Town Clerk, Karen Cane, is the executive officer and Responsible Finance Officer for the Town Council leading a team of operational and administrative staff consisting of a Deputy Town Clerk, Administration Officer and Outside Operation Manager. There are three outside grounds and maintenance staff including the Outside Operations Manager, Outside Operations Assistant and Weekend Caretaker who maintain the land and buildings owned by the Town Council.

Kate Osborne, CiLCA

Town Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer

As Town Clerk, Kate is the Council’s Chief Executive and Proper Officer, responsible for all aspects of Council operations, including the duties of the Responsible Finance Officer, delivering services such as the Cemetery, Council properties and open spaces, leading a team of 7 staff, managing the delivery of council projects and initiatives, and supporting 15 councillors in their decision making. Kate is required to provide expert legal and sector best practice advice to the council, supporting effective governance and informed decision-making.

Paul Merifield

Outside Operations Manager

Paul oversees the grounds maintenance operation of the Town Council. This includes working to ensure the efficient and effective management and development of a wide range of assets including all grounds sites, play areas and buildings owned/leased by the Town Council.

Sandra Samways

Administration Officer

Sandra assist in the day-to-day management of the Council's Help Centre. She is the first line of contact with the general public who visit or phone the Help Centre, to receive issues raised and assist in resolutions. She support the team with administration and finance.

Rob Meacham

Outside Operations Assistant

Rob's role involves the day to day support of the Outside Operations Manager, carrying out and recording routine checks on town council land/open spaces and ensuring that the town council assets are maintained to a high standard.

Sebastian Lewis

Community Projects and Support Officer

Sebastian is responsible for supporting community engagement, both through larger-scale public events and also more specific, ongoing projects.
