The Keep Upton Tidy Group

Who are we?

Local volunteers, all of whom live in Upton, whose main aim is to improve the overall appearance of OUR and YOUR community.

We receive financial sponsorship from O2 and 'in-kind' sponsorship from Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council and the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

What do we do?

We work together with Purbeck District Council, Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council, Plan for Lytchett Minster and Upton and Dorset Police.

We:
  • organise litter picks
  • report fly tipping
  • lobby councils about overgrown hedges, state of pavements, graffiti
  • contribute to Upton in Bloom's tree planting programme
  • campaign on issues such as The Greenridge site
  • meet regularly with local Police officers
  • support the work of the Town Council's street cleansing operative

In July 2009 Annette Brooke MP presented the group with a Community Spirit Award for the dedication and time contributed by its members to the community whilst a Certificate of Excellence was awarded by South East in Bloom for the group's support for Upton in Bloom.
